Have you ever noticed the growing amount of tandem trailers in California? An eighteen wheeler is basically equipped with a very long hitch at the back of the regular trailer, to which is attached a smaller trailer (usually with just four wheels) which visually has no front or rear. Every time I see one on the road I expect it to break out of its reins and begin running about on its own, attending to its own inanimate agenda.
